About Kosi Cat

Built specifically for the demanding coastal waters of South Africa, the Kosi Cat range is designed with safety, durability, and performance in mind.
Every hull features high-density flotation foam-filling, heavy-duty hand-laid fibreglass construction, and deep sponsons that soften the ride in rough water. Whether you are launching through the surf or heading far offshore, Kosi Cat gives you total peace of mind.

Our Story

The story started way back in 1993 when the late Jerry Govender, of old Jurgenscraft fame, started making a mold in some spare space at Bill Harrison‘s old shop. By 2000 the very first Kosi cat 16 CC was born. A Round tunnel hull for good off-shore performance, with good stern flotation. The point of making this boat was to have an excellent handling of-shore fishing craft, entry-level, well priced & easy to launch & tow. All these points were achieved. Some 200 of these boats were sold.

The 16 F/C followed very successfully. It’s still is one of South Africa’s most popular small craft off –shore fishing rigs. Reggie Chetty (ex Acecraft & Angler Boats) had, by now, joined the production team and he was responsible for the new Kosi cat 186 CC and F/C boats. Again, a great medium class off-shore rig. A round tunnel, again,  with awesome stern flotation.
